Can I vibe code ClickUp?
One app for tasks, docs, goals, and team workflows.
ClickUp's entire pitch is breadth — tasks, docs, whiteboards, goals, dashboards, time tracking, and automations in one configurable workspace for teams. Any one module is buildable; the product is the integration of all of them plus the customization and collaboration around them. A solo user rebuilding a corner of it gains a to-do app, not ClickUp. The value is the all-in-one team platform and the switching cost of everything living there.
Build me a focused personal task workspace loosely inspired by ClickUp — and say clearly in the README that you are NOT rebuilding the all-in-one team suite, just a clean single-user task manager. Features: spaces that contain lists of tasks; each task has a customizable status, priority, due date, and description; switch any list between list view and board view; plus one attached markdown doc per space. Use Next.js App Router with a hosted Postgres, optimistic UI, and keyboard shortcuts. Deliberately leave out docs collaboration, goals, dashboards, automations, and multi-user features, and list them as out of scope.
A personal workspace with tasks in list and board views plus simple markdown docs — a sliver of ClickUp.
- The dozens of bundled modules (docs, goals, whiteboards, dashboards, time tracking)
- Deep per-team customization: custom fields, statuses, and views everywhere
- Automations and hundreds of integrations
- Real-time collaboration and granular permissions
- Native mobile and desktop apps
Teams pay ClickUp to replace five other tools and keep everything in one place — the moat is breadth, configurability, and collaboration, which is the opposite of a focused personal build.
A prompt is the first move, not the whole game. Course 01 teaches you to take a prompt like this one to a shipped, working app — reviewing, correcting, and steering the agent the whole way.
