The value that justifies $20 a month is the aggregation: it pulls tasks and messages from Asana, Jira, Trello, Gmail, Slack, and your calendar into one place. You can build the ritual in a weekend; building and maintaining a dozen reliable two-way integrations is the real, unglamorous work. Personal version yes, the connected workflow only partly.
Build me a daily planning app inspired by Sunsama. The core flow: each morning I pull tasks into a Today list, drag each onto a timeline to time-box it (with an estimated duration), and work the plan; each evening I get a shutdown review showing what I finished, what to roll over, and planned-vs-actual time. Show my Google Calendar events alongside the time-boxed tasks. Build one real task-source integration (import from a Todoist or GitHub Issues account) behind a clean adapter interface so more sources can be added later. Use Next.js App Router with a hosted Postgres, a nice drag-and-drop timeline, and deploy to Vercel; note that the full multi-tool integration set is the deliberately-scoped-down part.
