Can I vibe code Hootsuite?

Enterprise social management: scheduling, monitoring, inbox, and team workflows.

🔴Not reallyest. a weekend for the scheduler; the full suite is not a solo build

If you rebuild the part of Hootsuite you can see — the scheduler — you have built Buffer, not Hootsuite. The reason companies pay hundreds a month is the enterprise breadth: a unified inbox that pulls every mention, comment, and DM across a dozen networks into one queue, social listening, approval chains, and shared analytics for a team. That is an integration and operations product, not a feature, and each connector plus the real-time monitoring pipeline is ongoing work you would own forever. You can build the personal scheduling slice; you cannot vibe-code the enterprise social operations suite.

The one-shot prompt
Build the realistic personal slice of Hootsuite — a scheduler for my own accounts — and be explicit in the README that the social inbox, monitoring, and team features are deliberately out of scope. Let me connect my accounts via OAuth, compose and queue posts with media, and publish on a Vercel Cron schedule via each platform's official API with retry logic and a send-status log. Add a calendar view and a simple analytics page that pulls basic post metrics from each platform where the API allows it. Use Next.js App Router with a hosted Postgres, deployable to Vercel, and structure each network as an adapter. Note clearly that a real unified inbox and listening pipeline would require sustained streaming ingestion and per-network approvals well beyond this build.

What you build

The schedulable slice — a personal queue that posts to your own connected accounts — while the inbox, monitoring, and team workflows stay out of scope.

What you give up
  • The unified social inbox across every network's mentions, comments, and DMs
  • Social listening and brand-monitoring streams
  • Team roles, approval workflows, and shared content calendars
  • Cross-network analytics and reporting done for you
  • Maintained connectors to 20+ platforms and their API changes
Why people still pay

Agencies and brand teams pay for the operations layer, not the posting: one place to triage every message across every account, with approvals and audit trails. That breadth and its upkeep is the moat, and it is precisely the part a personal build never touches.

Actually build it

A prompt is the first move, not the whole game. Course 01 teaches you to take a prompt like this one to a shipped, working app — reviewing, correcting, and steering the agent the whole way.
