Coda blends documents with database tables, a formula language, buttons, and automations so a doc can behave like a small app — and lets teams build on all of it together. Any single ingredient is approachable, but the product is the composability plus real-time collaboration and the Packs integration ecosystem. A personal doc-with-a-table is a weekend; Coda is a programmable, collaborative platform. The moat is the platform and the team building inside it.
Build me a personal doc-with-tables editor inspired by Coda — and say plainly in the README that this is a focused single-user tool, not the programmable team platform. Features: rich-text documents that can embed tables; each table has typed columns and can be shown as a grid or a card view; and a small, clearly-scoped set of formula columns (e.g. sum, concat, a simple reference between a cell and another table). Use Next.js App Router with a hosted Postgres and clean inline editing. Deliberately leave out the full formula language, buttons/automations, Packs integrations, and real-time collaboration, and list them as out of scope.
