Can I vibe code Canva?

A basic design canvas — text, shapes, images, layers, export — is buildable, but that is not why Canva wins. Canva's product is the enormous library: millions of templates, stock photos, elements, fonts, and brand kits, plus magic AI tools, one-click resizing, and print and publishing services, all wrapped in an interface anyone can use. That content library and the ecosystem around it are the moat, and no prompt fills a stock-and-template catalog of that scale. You can vibe-code the editor; you cannot vibe-code the library and the services that make the editor worth opening.
Build a simple drag-and-drop graphic editor for my own use (a small slice of Canva). Use a canvas library to let me add and style text, shapes, and uploaded images on fixed-size artboards (Instagram post, story, A4), with layers, alignment guides, grouping, and undo/redo. Include a handful of starter templates defined as JSON, a color and font picker, and export to PNG and PDF. Persist designs locally. Use a modern web stack, and be clear in the README that Canva's real moat is its massive template and stock-asset library plus print services — this builds the editor, not the catalog that makes Canva worth paying for.

People pay for the content and the ease, not the canvas — a bottomless library of templates and assets that turns a blank page into a finished graphic in minutes. Rebuilding the editor is feasible; sourcing and curating that catalog and the services around it is the real, unclonable product.
